Nile river cruises, the pyramids, the sphinx, lively night scene- Egypt really does seem to have it all when it comes to the perfect travel destination and Asia Travel Tips certainly agree.
With tourists able to go on river Nile cruises or visit some of the Ancient Wonders of the World, it is little wonder that Egypt was recently chosen as a partner country for the 2010 Asia Travel Trips show.
Held last week in Suntec, Singapore, the country was well represented with the tagline, “Where it all begins.”
With the best hotels, restaurants, tourist sights and activities such as River Nile cruises – the show has given the country the chance to showcase itself to leaders in the travel industry from Asia and the rest of the world.
With around 12.5 million tourists visiting the country each year, the country is now hoping to attract more people from Asia to visit the ancient monuments and attractions such as the ruins and temples at Luxor City.
The country, which also seen an increase of tourists in 2010 of 18.7%, is also hoping to promote luxury cruises along the River Nile as an alternative way to see the sights.
Amr El Ezaby, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Authority is delighted to see the country as an official partner at the prestigious event.
He said:” We are honoured to be the official partner country for a permier event like ITB Asia 2010.
“Asia is one of the biggest markets for us and an event of this scale allows us to showcase Egypt and its attractions to a larger audience.”
These sentiments were also echoed by Hisham Zaazou, First Assistant Minister for Tourism.
He added:” We are always looking for opportunities to attract more tourists to the jewels of Egypt and it is our pleasure to promote it as an emerging international holiday destination.”
