Whether you’re building your dream home, renovating an old one or just replacing your roof and its attachments, you’ll probably be looking to buy both the most cost-effective but also the longest lasting, good-looking option when it comes to fascias and soffits.
For most applications, we can recommend UPVC soffits and fascias, which is something we specialise in. Although aluminium or wood can be used, these have to be painted more often than you might think (after all, they are exposed to the great outdoors and lots of water). Working at height is not always everyone’s idea of a fun DIY job, so the less time you have to spend up ladders painting or maintaining your roof, the better.
UPVC fascias can come in a variety of colours, so that they match your roof colour and style, as well as the guttering and walls. Again, this will retain colour and not have to be painted over. Ventilation is also key to soffits especially – damp is one of the most destructive things to happen in a home, and with modern, ventilated upvc soffits, you don’t need to worry about any water ingress like you might get with wood – upvc is hard-wearing, and it’s also very waterproof.
If you have existing soffits, they might have fixtures for your phone or electricity in which case you may need to contact your suppliers. But once done, you’ll not have to maintain your roof very often thanks to the durability of upvc. When the time comes to replace any fascias or soffits boards, then it’s far easier done with upvc ones than it would be with almost any other material.
You can simply buy a small section of the board from us (rather than replace the whole lot) and make a replacement in the part that needs it only, not having to mend the entire structure. If this sounds good to you, then consider upvc for your fascias and soffits in the future.
