You might think that redesigning your bathroom is a simple as choosing a bathroom suite, picking some tiles and finding some flooring that you like. While it can, of course, be that simple, there are other things that you do need to take into consideration. Where are you going to keep all of your toiletries and cosmetics? What about the spare toilet rolls – where will they live? If the answer is ‘in a corner’ or ‘on the windowsill’, then you should probably consider buying some designer bathroom furniture to keep your new bathroom looking fresh and wonderful.
If you’re short on space, then bathroom vanity units are an excellent choice. Allowing you to hide everything away under the basin, you’ll be amazed and just how much space you get and how much you can cram in there! Using a vanity unit avoids having numerous bottles of lotions and potions cluttering sides and sills, and you shouldn’t find need for a bathroom wall cabinet either, leaving your walls completely free as well.
Bathroom vanity units incorporate your pedestal basin, and depending on the size of unit you choose, you can also benefit from additional space around the basin itself as well, giving you a handy surface to rest things on, such as make up bags or bottles of talc or moisturiser while in use.
If you do have the space to accommodate more designer bathroom furniture, then you could always choose a freestanding short or tall cupboard to house all of your bits and bobs. These are also great add-ons even if you’re not replacing and refitting your bathroom suite and are equally massive space savers. Again, if you pick a short cupboard, the top surface makes a great temporary resting place for anything you’re using, or even for keeping a bale of towels on.
