Drake’s rise to international acclaim started with his role of Jimmy Brooks in the TV series Degrassi: The next generation. The 1986 born Canadian entertainer went on and gained worldwide fame as a rapper. His talent and charm assured him a contract with Lil Wayne’s production company, with his first album being released in late 2010 and going straight to number one in Billboard 200. His next album, released in 2011, was also a success, and Drake went on to work with some of the biggest names in hip hop, rap and R&B, including Jay-z, Eminem, Kayne West and many more.
As a reward for his talent and success, Drake was nominated for a couple of Grammy awards and actually won a couple of Juno Awards and the prize for the best rap album of the year in 2010. Drake has a couple of songs that went straight up in US and UK charts, Every Girl and Best I Ever Have, and the future sure looks bright for him.
If you’re a Drake fan and want to get in at one of his concerts, you’re better off buying tickets online. Drake tickets go like hot bread and if you want to be absolute sure you’re getting in, you should hunt down tickets online many months before the actual event. Drake tour dates and venues are usually announced at least 6 months before the event, so you have plenty of time to get your ticket. Also, keep in mind that shopping online is cheaper than buying straight from the venue, not to say that you save lots of time by not queuing in front of a box office, alongside hundreds or thousands of fans.
The UK Drake tour will take place in 2012 and will kick off in late March in Dublin, with many venues in England coming up afterwards, all the way through spring and early summer. So if you live in London, Manchester, Coventry, Cardiff or Liverpool, gear up for a great concert featuring Drake.
