It is by no means unusual for brides to don pearl jewellery such as a pearl necklace for their big days. These items can enhance the appearance of outfits and add a subtle air of class too.
However, one individual to tie the knot recently was perhaps not a typical wearer of such precious items. Yorkshire Terrier Lola got hitched to fellow pooch Mugly, a Chinese Crested, wearing a pearl necklace worth hundreds of pounds, the Daily Telegraph reports.
The much loved animal belongs to Louise Harris, who revealed she spends thousands of pounds on the mutt’s birthdays, clothing and jewellery. The 32-year-old invited 80 guests to watch the ceremony, which took place in an outdoor marquee located in the grounds of mansion in Bradwell-on-Sea.
As well as pearl jewellery, Ms Harris splashed out on flowers, designers to decorate the marquee, a wedding planner and security guards.Commenting on the day, she said: “I wanted Lola to have the perfect day. It was meant to only be a relatively small affair with 30 guests but the list just kept getting bigger and bigger because I didn’t want to leave anyone out! Just like most weddings I guess!
“The day was perfect from start to finish and Lola loved being the centre of attention all day. My dogs are my pride and joy so nothing is too good for them. I enjoy spoiling them because it makes me happy.”
She went on to state that Lola has “completely transformed” her life and brings her a great deal of happiness, so this event was her way of thanking her four-legged friend.Much of the eccentric dog owner’s life revolves around pets, as she runs the boutique and grooming parlour Diva Dogs in Essex, which sells products and provides services such as natural coat dying.
