Moving to France, Holland, Germany or indeed anywhere else can be one of the best decisions you make. It’s a chance to try something totally different and create a new life, but the only problem could be the perceived hassle involved in getting over there. But, if you bear in mind these few simple points, it doesn’t have to be that difficult.
• Plan in advance. It’ll be tempting to jet off as soon as the idea springs to mind, but if you’re serious about moving to France (or elsewhere) then you’ll be wise to hold back. Make sure to thoroughly plan everything, because although this may seem time-consuming it’ll be worth it in the end. Think about your home (both here and abroad), your finances, the practicalities and your legal obligations, and make sure everything gets ticked off.

• Enjoy the process. You’ll (probably) only be experiencing this once, so go into it with excitement and anticipation and you’ll have a much better chance of enjoying yourself. There’ll always be times when it gets stressful but if you remember why you’re doing it it’ll become far easier, and once you’re over there everything will seem worth it.
