So you’ve been to the diy superstore and look at loads of bathroom suites. After lots of deliberating you finally chose the right one for your home. Phew, that took long enough. Now you have to fit it. Bathroom suites can be tricky to put together if you don’t know what you are doing. If you are unsure about any aspect of installation get some professional help. If you are doing it yourself, one of the trickiest things to get right is fitting heated towel rails.
Firstly you need to pick out something that goes well with the rest of your bathroom. Otherwise it is just going to look out of place and spoil the feel and décor of your bathroom. It’s important to keep things looking neat and tidy. Choose something sleek that won’t take up too much room, but one that still have plenty of room to dry all the towels. If you have a family this is especially important. Leaving heated towel rails unnecessarily can waste a whole lot of energy. Some models come with lights so you know when they are on.
Right so you have your rail and your ready to attach it to the wall. Mark out the points you are going to be drilling into to mount the rail. Make sure everything is level. Then you can screw it in. Think about where the rail gets its power from. It usually comes from a spur on the ring circuit. This needs to be as close as possible to the rail. You might have to run some additional flex to get everything hooked up correctly and safely. Then you are ready to go. Switch it on and you can enjoy nice warm towels any time you like. This used to be considered a luxury feature in a bathroom, now people expect it pretty much as standard.
