Baby blankets, baby clothes and other items have been donated by some of the best known celebrities in the UK to charity.As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, celebrities have been donating baby blankets, clothes and other material items to be used in a project that will help raise funds for the charity.
Footballer Ryan Giggs and comedian Russell Brand are among the stars who have donated their items that have been used to make a patchwork Pink Passion car by Smart.
Liz Hurley and Sara Cox have also donated items to the project that will also see the car auctioned off on Ebay to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign.
As well as the money raised from the online auction, car manufacturer Smart is also expected to donate £10,000 to the campaign which will see more research carried out into the causes and treatment for breast cancer.
Radio DJ Sara Cox donated some of her daughter’s baby clothes to the project. Speaking to The Metro she said: “The squares were cut from my youngest daughter’s outgrown vests.
“I hope with all my heart that a cure for breast cancer will be discovered before she reaches womanhood.”
Ryan Giggs was also keen to get involved and donated a babygro from a doll that was chosen by his daughter.
Also speaking to The Metro he said: “Here’s to raising lots of money for Breast Cancer Campaign.” There are a number of other projects going on up and down the country to raise money for the campaign.
The Northern Echo has reported that breast cancer survivor, Lesley Colley is also collecting unwanted bras to raise funds.
For every kilo of bras she collects, £1 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Campaign which will help fund projects into research.
