A variety of decorating supplies were recently used to help transform the appearance of a ski centre in England. Ski Rossendale was turned into an alpine getaway by a group of volunteers using a variety of decorating tools, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.
The slope is now under the control of Dave Fuller, Karon Driver and Sue and Steve Foulkes, who aim to develop the business as a social enterprise. The leisure facility serves as a place where individuals can engage in a range of activities, including skiing and snowboarding.
Following a donation of decorating supplies by Dulux Decorator Centre, the Rawtenstall ski slope was given a facelift. Its exterior buildings and perimeter fencing were enhanced by the individuals who helped out.
Director of the ski slope Ms Foulkes noted that the team behind the venture are “truly grateful” for the paint donation.
She added: “Ski Rossendale had always been a valued and much used sports facility, and we are now looking forward to welcoming the local community back to the new and improved site.
“We passionately believe that winter sports help children to develop and become more independent, and are thrilled that we’ve not only been able to save the centre, but also give it a dramatic transformation.”
Thanks to the decorating tools and supplies used recently, the appearance of the visitor attraction has been greatly improved and such enhancements are part of a range of alterations that have been taking place at the centre.
As well as providing slopes for people to travel down on their skis and snowboards, Ski Rossendale also offers people the chance to glide down on round inflatable items dubbed ‘tubes’. This takes place on either the nursery downhill areas or on the quarter pipe.
Meanwhile, there is also a cafe where people can head to recharge their batteries after testing their skills on the piste.
