Spanish hotels up and down the country are suffering due to the global economic recession and now the latest victim is the hotel group, Jale.
Spanish hotels group Jale has announced it has lost control of one of Marbella’s most famous hotels- the Incosol, according to a report by the Euro Weekly News.
Two other Spanish hotels in Cadiz and Cordoba have also been lost by the group which has gone into administration as a result of the economic recession.
The owner of the hotels, Inmobiliaria Amuerga is due to receive no money at all from the hotels, which have been left in the hands of the insolvency administration members after the ruling was made by a judge in Cadiz.
Incosol is a leading five star hotel resort with spa and gym facilities. With 192 rooms in total, it has often been regarded as one of the most luxurious Spanish hotels in the country.
According to website, the Olive Press, hotel bookings in Marbella have risen compared to the same period this time last year. As the article suggests, it seems that the city, located in a prime location in the Costa Del Sol, has closed the chapter on its worst ever year for hotel bookings as more people are choosing to stay in the city this year.
What is even more interesting is that five star hotels in the city that charge between 300 and 4000 euros a night, have reported the highest rise in accommodation bookings.
In total almost one million hotel rooms have been booked during the summer period this year between July and September. Although this is usually the most popular time of the year for tourists to visit the city and the rest of Southern Spain, this figure shows a rise of 2.44 per cent in bookings.
